FBR & IRIS
Work with IRNs and QR codes
Understand the Invoice Reference Number and FBR QR code that belong on every compliant invoice, and how buyers verify them.
- 01
Know what the IRN proves
An IRN is assigned by IRIS after a successful submission. It is evidence that the invoice was registered with FBR, and it matters for input tax claims.
- 02
Wait for a successful response
Do not print a customer copy until submission is accepted. A draft without an IRN is not a FBR-compliant invoice.
- 03
Keep the QR on the issued copy
The QR encodes a path to FBR's verifier. Anyone with the printed invoice can scan it to confirm the document is genuine.
- 04
Store IRN, QR, and the FBR response together
The per-invoice audit trail keeps the IRN, QR payload, and FBR response in one place so you can answer questions months later without reconstructing the file.
